Young people aged 16 or 17 can take part in NCS through Bolton Lads & Girls Club. Don't miss out!

More than 275,000 young people have already completed NCS. The scheme is your chance to embark on an exhilarating adventure, make your mark and build skills for work and life.

Why NCS?

  • Develop skills that employers value
  • Learn to budget and live for yourself
  • Meet incredible people
  • Get your voice heard

**Did you know? UCAS recommends that students include NCS in their personal statement.**

Phase 1: Adventure

Time to challenge yourself!

Phase 2: Discovery

A chance to discover something new!

You’ll be reunited with your team at the University of Bolton’s halls of residence. During your stay, you’ll have the opportunity to develop important life skills such as confidence and communication.

You’ll also get the chance to meet interesting people and organisations from across the local area, while learning new practical skills such as first aid.

Phase 3: Social action

Phase 4:Graduation

Celebrate in style! At the end of your NCS experience, we hold a party to say thank you for doing something inspirational in your community.

Completing the NCS scheme is only the beginning – you’re now part of the NCS family. This means exclusive access to potential volunteering opportunities and apprenticeships, as well as amazing discounts and big events. Once an NCSer, always an NCSer.

NCS is amazing value for money. Thanks to government backing, the whole experience costs just £50. The scheme is designed to be accessible for everyone, so financial assistance is available if required.

We run NCS programmes at BLGC in summer and autumn. Places are limited, so get in touch today for more information.
