About the role

As we prepare to reopen our new state of the art Youth Centre at Spa Road in Bolton, we are recruiting. We provide safe, creative and appropriate play, and developmental opportunities for children aged 8-12 years. This includes preparing and delivering activities, through both individual and group activities. All of this is done in a nurturing and caring environment ensuring that all children and young people are safe and happy.

The role works directly with children and young people to develop their social skills, building their confidence by delivering a planned, high-quality programme of activity. The programme directly responds to the diverse needs, concerns, and interests of our members during the evenings, school holidays and occasionally on residentials, and provides positive outcomes for young people through appropriate assessment and intervention.

About you

Can you bring out the very best in young people?
Can you bring out the inner voice of young people to impact the community and themselves?
Do you have a passion for providing the very best offer for young people?
Do you enjoy and thrive in a fast pace, energetic and vibrant environment?
Then we want to hear from you!

Each of our Junior Club sessions is packed with a diverse mix of young people with a huge variety of interests and passions. The successful applicant must be able to work with large numbers of energetic young children. Our playworkers deliver a whole host of activities, opportunities and skills development for all our members in a safe, fun and inclusive environment. We are looking for playworkers that have a hands-on and can-do attitude and are inspired and motivated by delivering a fantastic service of the highest standard for young people. Through a multitude of creative engagement methods, we strive to provide the very best for the young people of Bolton

Ideally you will hold a current first aid certificate, along with a childcare qualification. However, it’s absolutely key that you can demonstrate a creative and enthusiastic approach, with the keen desire to inspire children and young people.

You will need to understand health and safety issues that affect the day to day running of childcare services, and a good idea of what great childcare looks like. A positive can-do attitude is part of your natural flair.
