Our fundraising events are crucial for ensuring we can continue to deliver our invaluable activities and services for our young people, and we really appreciate the support of any volunteers on the day. If you are interested in supporting an event, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01204 540 139 for more information.
Safeguarding qualification – We are working with Bolton Council to provide all volunteers the opportunity to gain a Safeguarding qualification; Level 1 Keeping Children Safe through an online course (takes no longer than 2 hours to complete). This is a great opportunity for any volunteers interested in enhancing their CV and gaining a relevant qualification! If you would like to undertake this qualification, please contact the Volunteering Team.
Reward & Recognition
Our volunteers are amazing. We hope you get something out of your volunteering experience, but we also want to give something back to you as a huge thank you for everything you do. Here are some of the ways in which we aim to reward and recognise you as an amazing BLGC volunteer!
Volunteer of the month
Every month we award one of our volunteers the Volunteer of the Month Award. Nominated by staff and other volunteers, this super star has gone above and beyond and embodies our BLGC values. As well as a certificate, you will also join the previous winners on the wall of fame in our Spa Road Club.
This award celebrates our most committed volunteers, those who have volunteered over 100 hours over the last 12 months. The gist of time is the most valuable gift our volunteers can give, and so we feel this is an impressive milestone to celebrate. As well as a certificate you will join our wall of other amazing volunteers who have reached this key milestone.
During your special month, we like to say just a small thank you from us. You give us the gift of time each time you volunteer, so as it is your birthday, we feel we should return the favour! A small token of our appreciation, you will receive a Happy Birthday letter from all of us BLGC.
Every quarter we invite all volunteers to get together with our internal volunteering to discuss all things BLGC and volunteering. This is a great way to have your voice heard, let us know what we are doing well, and what we can improve on, to make sure you feel as valued as you should be. Please see the ‘Already a Volunteer’ page for the next dates.
1st – 7th June each year is National Volunteer Week. During this week we take the time to celebrate all things volunteering, so look out for what we have planned this year!
