Locations: Barlow Park Young Peoples Centre, off Dunoon Drive, Astley Bridge
Duration: We ask for a minimum of 3 months as we feel this is the minimum needed for you to build meaningful relationships with our young people, be a consistent role model, and to really get something out of the training and volunteering experience.
Times: Wed, Thurs, Fri or Sat, 5pm – 9pm
About the role
Join our Outreach team bringing BLGC out to young people in their communities. This role is all about building relationships and trust, engaging young people in positive conversations about anti-social behaviour and keeping safe, as well as signposting them to support and other services. This is an exciting, challenging and rewarding opportunity, that will reach some of the most at risk young people in Bolton, as well as bringing communities together.
You don’t need any previous experience as we provide you with training, but what we do ask is that;
- You are passionate about working with children and young people and making a difference to their lives.
- You are able to actively engage and build positive relationships with young people, as well as the rest of the team.
- You are enthusiastic, confident, and resilient.
- Some knowledge around mental health, anti-social behaviour and issues young people face is advantageous but not necessary.
Complete an application form and return it to the volunteering team at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will then invite you in for a chat to find out a bit more about you, and discuss the next steps in becoming a BLGC volunteer.
